Sports Day with a twist…

Remember good old-fashioned School Sports Days?… Egg & Spoon Race?…Sack Race?…Wheelbarrow Race?…3 Legged Race?…the list is endless.Well now Edinburgh Stag & Hen can make that happen and bring back those memories and take you back to your younger days.  A minimum of 10 participants are required  to take part in a host of old schools sports day games organised and supervised by our dedicated team.

Here is a list of our Sports Day Games:

Participant has to spin around 20 times then run in and out of cones to end cone and back again to tag their team mate, format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

Participant gets in a sack provided and proceeds to jump in the sack to the end of the lane and back to their team mate, format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

Participant has to balance a bean bag on their head while getting to the end of the lane as fast as possible and back to teammate to repeat process. Format continues for the rest of the team to complete. If the bean bag is dropped the participant ‘should’ go back to the start.

Participant has to balance an egg on the end of spoon whilst running as fast as possible to the end of the lane and back to pass over the egg & spoon the the next teammate. Format continues for the rest of the team. If the egg is dropped the participant must stop where they are and place the egg back on the spoon before continuing to run.

Participant uses the skipping rope provided to skip to the end of the lane and back to their team mate to repeat. Format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

Two participants have to join together and attach a special strap to their adjoining legs (left leg for one, right leg for the other) which will create three legs between two participants. They then combined have to get to the end of the lane and back as quick as possible. The strap then has to be transferred to the next pair waiting. Format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

Participant dribbles with football in and out of cones to the end cone and back again, then passes over to team mate who repeats process. Format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

Each team will have 3 colour-coded bibs. On go, the first person from each team will run to the tic tac toe board (9 placed Hula Hoops) and place it in one of the hula hoops. They will race back to their team and the next participant will go. This will continue until the 3 bibs are placed. The goal is to have your team get 3 in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). If all 3 bibs from both teams have been placed and there is no tic tac toe, the next participant in line will be able to move one of their own team bibs into an open hula hoop.

Two hoops stay in the racing lane and with the bean bag the participants alternatively take turns to throw the bean bag into one of the two hoops. On a point system, 2 points the closets hoop, 3 points for the furthest away hoop. The team with the most points win.

With the space hopper provided the participant attempts to get to the end of the lane and back to their teammate as fast as they can while on the space hopper. The format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

In pairs, they have to attempt a wheelbarrow run to the end of the lane and back again as fast as they can. They have to achieve this by participant 1 getting into a press up position. Participant 2 then takes hold of participant 1’s ankles. Using participant 1 as a ‘wheelbarrow’ they then compete in the race. At the end of the lane they switch over roles and participant 2 becomes the ‘wheelbarrow’. The format continues for the rest of the team to complete.

All participants from each team will grab opposite ends of a 20m Tug of War rope and pull against the opposing team. Whatever team successfully pulls all participants from the opposing team over the centre mark wins.

Participant 1 runs in and out of the cone to the end cone and back again to participant 2. They link arms with participant 2 and repeat the process. They then link with participant 3 and the process continues through the whole team to create a chain of runners. The format continues until the whole team crosses the finishing line.

5-star review of
We did the Mini Highland Games and also the Paintballing through John at Edinburgh Stag & Hen Do Co. Both things went off without a hitch and the travel to and fro was perfectly on time. We also booked the accommodation on Gilmore Pl. With 18 fellas on the trip the accommodation had it's own key pad systems for each room and for the front door! No need to be bothering anyone about lost keys etc.

Highly Recommended!
We booked the Highland games followed by a whiskey tasting and it was fantastic! The day went seamlessly, we were picked up from where we requested by a minivan and then taken to the games which were run by a fantastic instructor, then back to the centre where we had the whiskey tasting. John was quick to respond, easy to get in touch with and organised everything we needed for a great day. He went above and beyond with recommendations on places to go and eat/drink too, would highly recommend anyone wanting to book a stag do in Edinburgh to use him! Thank you!

What a fantastic day. We did the mini Highland games for my sister’s hen. Everyone absolutely loved it. Everything was well organised and it was a right laugh and we got to try lots of different activities. This suited our group as we had mix ages and one member of the group was pregnant so people were able to sit out certain activities if they didn’t feel up to it. Was lovely getting out of the city for a while and we got a stunning day for it. Thank you all again for such a great experience. We will definitely recommend this to friends.

The Mini Highland games were so much fun! The stag group I was with had a great time and really thought it was the highlight of our weekend-long trip to Edinburgh. The drive out from Edinburgh was just over an hour and our large group of 12 people meant that we had about 2 hours at the farm taking part in the games, which was well worth it. The setting was great and we really leant into the team spirit - as well as insulting each other all through the event, which really got everyone laughing. Really really great time. Highly recommend!

Excellent. John was great from the get-go, quick to respond, and very easy to get in touch with. As soon as the stag group stopped messing around with what they wanted to do John immediately gave me a price and got it all booked. A few weeks prior we had another couple of latecomers. This didn't pose a problem and John made the changes to the booking.

The day itself was fantastic. The bus driver picked us up at the time and place arranged and got us to the mini Highland Games. This was great fun and I would definitely do it again. Petrol karts to follow were a hit with the guys a certainly worth it.

Highly recommend-- a PERFECT day =)
We searched for something that would be fun for all ages for a pre-wedding event. There were 10 of us (aged 30-80) and Bert at the Clay Pigeon Shooting Range was absolutely phenomenal. He made sure all of us were able to hit some of the targets (no matter how terrible we were to start). Such an amazing instructor. Thank you to John for arranging and Bert for making a perfect day out!

Edinburgh Stag took all the pressure…
Edinburgh Stag took all the pressure and stress out of organising my son’s stag do. John was extremely helpful, giving me a few options to suit my budget. We had 3 activities book. John had a backup plan in case of unseen problems. Their accommodation in the city centre catered for the 14 person party. More than enough space as the property could sleep over 30. Clean and comfortable. A definite 10/10 from me!
